Abraham's Blessings

Hello Family,

Hope we are all having a great week so far. I thank God for His awesomeness. Something caught my interest yesterday (yes, the light bulb picture is accurate lol... anyways), It’s been on my mind and I figured it won’t hurt to share… so here…

You know how we (ok some of us) are super excited that Abraham’s blessings are ours? (Assuming we fully know and understand what Abraham’s blessings are). Yeah, they are really ours (ding dong! Ok lemme stop playing  ). They are ours not only because we are the children of Abraham {what makes you Abraham’s heir? Our adoption by God, right? But I digress (though not entirely) }

I see a correlation between Genesis 12: 1- 3 and Matt 6:33

Gen 12: 1- 3 (KJV)
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Matt 6:33 (KJV)
33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

I believe that the covenant God made with Abraham, He has also made with us directly.

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:” Gen 12:1 is equal to “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” Matt 6:33 (a- first part)

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Gen12: 2-3 is equal to “and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matt 6:33 (b – last part)

God has offered us the same blessings He offered Abraham with the same criteria in other to receive the blessings. He says… “Step away from what takes your time and energy and focus on me alone, seek me whole heartedly, pursue after me, then I will grant your innermost heart’s desires, and also important things you’ve left out of your sincere desires but I know you need. Simply put, you’ll have everything!” – And “everything” here transcends our intelligence

I’m challenged to dare to be different! I’m encouraged to forsake the norm, the familiar and begin (or continue) the journey into what you may call the unfamiliar; a place where only God can direct me, not I, my mentors or even leaders can, God and He alone knows the way… and is the Way…

No wonder Abraham is referred to as the father of faith… if you embark on a journey only God knows the way to, (a journey you are determined to finish that is) wouldn’t you be dependent on God completely for directions? Wouldn’t you trust Him? ** Selah** I know I need the grace to

That being said, Abraham’s blessings are mine… Oh Yes they Are… how exciting… I am blessed in the morning and evening… how super fabulous.

However the more important thing to note is

Gen 12:4 “So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him”

For Abraham’s blessings to be yours, you have to start the journey, continue the journey, and intend to finish it! Go back to making God your number 1!

I pray that God, whom we serve and who is also our Father will give us the grace to love Him with all of our hearts, to immerse us with absolute love for Him and take us to a place where one thing we desire is to dwell in His presence all the days of our lives, to gaze upon His beauty (oh gosh!) and to seek Him in His temple… (Psalm 27:4)

Have a delightful evening

Nene hearts you all 

Jesus Rocks!

Fear Not

“Why are you afraid, do you still have no faith?” – Mark 4:40

“I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the sons of men, who are but grass, that you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor?”- Is 51: 12-16

Don’t be afraid, be confident in God. Wow Him with your confidence in Him like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did. Who are we afraid of? when we have the God of all Effects (thanks to Jedi) as our very own God, our Father.

Be confident that He will come and save you. Remember His promises, smile and shout Halleluiah. Sing of His mercies and deliverance, when you do, you are boldly telling the devil “here… in your face sucker!”

We should know who God is? Do we really know Him? We falter in our faith because who He is hasn’t fully registered in our “heads”.

God can do it again, and again and again, He is the same God today as He always has been, yesterday, today, He’s forever the same, there is no reason to doubt, God can do it again.

Heart of Kings

The King’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases – Pro 21:1 NIV

The verse above might not be new to anyone, but today I stumbled upon it and it got me thinking… and I’ve decided to share my thoughts…

I imagine how powerful kings were back then… they may have been like gods; untouchable, their decrees final and in some cases irrevocable. I also imagine how the king controlled the lives of all his subjects, how their living depended on the way the he felt; he could make or break them.

It makes sense for the psalmist to have used King in the verse above because he couldn’t think of any other human greater than him, but he goes further to say that as great as the King is, his heart was in the hand of the Lord, and God directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases… I find this very interesting. The people we think are in charge of our welfare, progress or livelihood are not really in charge. We fear humans, and try to please people because we feel they hold the key to our increase, but the verse above says that they don’t even control themselves. It is God that is in charge of the people we think are in charge. How about we focus on God to get the “King's” heart turned towards our directions?

Your destiny is controlled by God and not man, don’t put your life or source of joy in the hands of anyone but God. Don’t give anyone the key to your joy, peace and sanity, it is safest with God. The kings in our lives might not necessarily be stumbling blocks, some might be catalyst to our acceleration, but what about those that are stumbling blocks?, If we look over them to the God who controls them, who is also our father then we can get Him to turn their "stony" hearts to loving hearts and make them favor us...

I could go on but I’d stop here J I pray we all have a glorious day and remainder of the week

Thank You Lord!

Psalm 50:14 Sacrifice thank offerings to God

Offering thanks to God is a sacrifice, just as we sacrifice [or should sacrifice] our time, energy and praise to God; God expects our thanksgiving to be sacrificial

In 1st Thessalonians 5:18, we are told of the will of God concerning our lives; that we should give thanks in all circumstances… God isn’t asking us to thank Him for our sufferings, persecutions, trials. No, but He wants and expects us to thank Him in our sufferings; as we go through whatever situations in life, He expects us to thank Him all the same. Our moods or circumstances should not determine our thanksgiving or the volume. It should consistently rise. Seek out new things to thank God for… believe me, if you think on it, you’d be overwhelmed by the number of things God should be thanked for… and don’t just stop with thanking Him for what He has done for you, because if that’s all you thank God for, when trials come or you experience desert periods, you won’t be thanking God, but learn to thank Him also for who He is, what He does not only in your Life but in the lives of people around you and in the world in general… Offering thanks to God is a sacrifice, at least God considers it as such… there has to be a killing; a letting go of something…

Get in the habit of thanking God always for everything… no matter how small the request is, try not to forget what you prayed for and even if you do forget, ask the Holy Spirit to remind you continually of every prayer you have prayed especially those that have been answered so that you can thank your father who answered your prayer, in fact go ahead and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal some things that were done on your behalf that you are not aware of. Nothing is coincidental in the life of God’s children, every good thing comes from God our father, so when something good happens no matter how small or insignificant you think it is, offer up thanks to God!

Paul reveals what I’d call a tiny “lil” prayer principle in Philippians 4:6—thanksgiving should always back up your requests to God. Gone are the days of asking, asking and asking without any thanks, even one as small as an amoeba. Welcome to, God I thank you, can I have this, daddy I thank you…. It even sounds much better and it gets to God... He absolutely loves it…

You don’t feel like thanking God? Well, that’s why it’s a sacrifice, and while you are sacrificing, throw in a request to your father to help you thank Him with a pure and sincere heart and to give you a heart of thanksgiving…

Point is you need to be thankful! Why?

Well, Ps 50:23 tells us that by thanking God, we are in fact preparing the way for God to bless us, so look at it this way, by each thanksgiving we offer to our father, we sweep away obstacles, thorns and weeds from our path to God which makes it easier for us to see his Salvation, to receive from Him. On the flip side, if you don’t thank God, you are pretty much responsible for your not receiving or seeing God’s salvation for your life… All you have to do is thank God! God is amazing, I mean! Thank you daddy!

Psalm 50:23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me,
and he prepares the way
so that I may show him the salvation of God.

Word Up

John 1: 1- 5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

In Genesis Chapter 1 we can document about nine “God saids” and in the passage above, we are told that every word that was spoken at creation is Jesus. “Through Jesus all things were made and without Him nothing was made”. Jesus is the Word, the Word that our Father used to create goodness out of nothingness and void. According to the passage as well, we see that Jesus is Life; the Word is life and through that Life, through Jesus, light shines (Thy word [{Jesus} is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path Ps 119:105) and because we are of the light we understand it, but it is misunderstood by darkness.

A verse in John chapter 1 excites me, makes me wonder and desire to totally grasp because I know there is wealth in fully understanding the verse, and I know by the grace of God, I’d come to that place of complete understanding and increased knowledge… the verse I speak of is verse 9 “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” The fact that we have been given the right to become children of God does not mean that we always exercise that right (ask the prodigal son’s brother), some of us don’t know how to act like sons of God or what comes with the territory, some others have exchanged that right for servitude as if we are angels or servants… we are sons, what is it to be a son of God?… let me not digress completely.

Some of us read the bible but have no idea that the words in the bible are in fact Jesus, when God says in Joshua 1:8 that we should study, meditate, hide in our hearts and apply the word of God, He is pretty much saying allow Jesus to completely rule your life, study Him, don’t let Him go, hide Him in your hearts, think about Him all the time, and then you’d know me because He is me after all, and then you’d have good success

We’ve heard that we cannot get to the Father except through the son… but of course… Since Jesus is the word, the only way we can know God well enough is through the word… hmmm!

One of the rights that we as sons of God should exercise is that of declaration, just like God our Father, we can speak life into deadness, create something out of nothing or change craziness into soundness. In Romans 4:17 we are told that God gives life to the dead and calls those things that be not as though they were … As a child of God, you have the power to give life and to speak those things that are not as though they were just like your father did and still does. The only way that is possible is by speaking Jesus; the word; God himself.

When we speak the word of God into any area of our lives, we experience life and newness. We can create what we want or what should be there.

I know that my Father will honor his word… after all He says that every word that is spoken will not come back to Him until it has accomplished its purpose. So go into the word, and dig out all those promises that you want and begin to confess and claim them. Be assured that there is no better way to be in God’s will that to give Him back His word.

Happy Easter - Thank You

Ezra 2:59 The following came up from the towns of Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon and Immer, but they could not show that their families were descended from Israel

Ezra 2:62 These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

“God I thank you!” I know we’ve all said that countless times, but why shouldn’t we? Paul encouraged us to “Be thankful” (Col 3:15), besides that, God has been so gracious to us, especially those of us who know that besides God, we have no good thing (Ps 16:2) when you understand that, then you attribute every good thing to God and it is easier to be thankful.

Where am I going with this? Look at the passages above… they had to prove their heritage, but we don’t. Why? Because of the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. We are no longer left out; we are no longer slaves, but children… heirs with Christ (Gal 4:4-7). We have been adopted into the greatest family ever (Eph 1:5), not because we deserve it, but because of the sacrifice of the one who is love personified.

I’m grateful, I’m delighted that though I am not a natural born Israelite, I am more of an Israelite than anyone can imagine, I am of the chosen few, the royal priesthood, not only of THE holy nation, but I am myself a holy nation (1 Pet 2:9). Instead of genealogical proof, the only proof I need is borne from the Spirit within me, who seals my redemption (Eph 1:13) and whose fruit is exhibited by my attitude and words... I am indeed honored! Wouldn’t you be? You should…

I pray that when next we thank God for Salvation, we give him a heartfelt daddy thank you… because even if we all come together at our most sincere to say a resounding thank you daddy, we would still not come close to what He deserves… but thank God, my daddy’s faithfulness, compassion and love is not dependant on our moods, unfaithfulness or actions but on His never changing self.. What an Awesome God we serve…

I love my daddy,

Have a nenerific Easter Celebration

My Hurt... My Pain.. My Joy.. My Comfort

Dad, I remember you, I miss you and though my heart has healed a great deal, I still can’t believe that the next time I see you will be when I get to heaven or in the sky depending on when my time is up.

No one understands dad, they care, they probably wish they understood, they sincerely want to help, but dad they don’t understand and we both know that only God understands how I feel…
Dad, even when I don’t feel like it, I see flashes of your face in my mind… sometimes I try so hard not to remember because each time hurts just as much. However, I must admit that today (2010-03-10) I listened to the song; the Chinwe Ike song that plays on your memorial website and some other songs on that CD… since your death, I haven’t been able to listen to the songs without breaking down, but I listened to them today, I felt the tears but I pulled through, I think it’s a big deal… I’ve improved

Dad, I must say… I feel shorthanded. You meant the whole world to me and you didn’t get to see the best parts of my adult life… just after you left, I grew into the young woman the last birthday card you gave me spoke of… how I was once a lil girl and now grown into a young lady you are proud of. Dad, I’ve really grown up within the last year (since you left). My life and dreams are very different now. You really were the only one whom I could share these things with, I can’t afford to leave my life like you are still here, you were my audience, my world, who loved me genuinely without ever judging me even in my craziest state, you thought I was the coolest , most fascinating person, but you changed everything when you left. I keep thinking, did you think of me at all before you left, did you see my face, did you imagine how Nene would cope…or was it too sudden even for you?

You were the only one who could tolerate me without a shadow of doubt. The truth is, with you I had no guards, but now it’s like I have no emotions except when I think of you, more like my heart is so wounded that it can’t be more wounded. The good thing though is that my solace is in God, I have gone deeper into God, He is now my everything and I’m learning to treat Him like you… my father. I must say, He is doing a better job, just because I know He’d never leave me and my secrets are safe with Him like they were with you. God doesn’t judge me, he tolerates me and never loses his temper with me… you know how I get? Well God is very patient with me just like you were. I started called him daddy recently, you know, not Father like everyone calls him without even treating Him like one... I call him daddy now and it feels so great.
Dad, who am I kidding, only God can read this, you can’t, you are having so much fun in heaven, you probably don’t even remember me anymore, you know how heaven is.. there is so much joy to be sorrowful, and I’m here, reminded everyday that my most precious isn’t here anymore and trying my best by God’s grace to leave life normally. Dad, one day I’d get to heaven, one day I’d see you again and I can just imagine my reaction… you won’t be my father then, but I know we’d recognize each other… I’d run towards you and throw my hands around you and give you all the hugs and kisses I’d have stored up for you all through the years

I dream of you quite often saying you don’t want to leave me but you have to go, and I, trying to convince you that you should not go… the last was quite heartbreaking, I told you to have faith and I even went on prove to you the workings of faith, then I woke up crying.. **shakes head** God help me.

I can’t get over throwing the sand into your casket… can you imagine, dad? Me? Nene? Throwing sand, not even ordinary sand o! the red Ozubulu muddy sand on you, because dust has to go back to dust and ashes to ashes… I did it twice, one for mom and the other for Obi. The second time, I tried to avoid throwing the sand on the casket but to the side, because I could not stand the sound of the earth hitting the casket. Dad I’m tortured for real… and people don’t understand why I leave my life solely for God now, my whole life revolves around God, but why not? it is only in Him that I feel good, outside of Him, I’m terribly destitute and you know me, I don’t like sad things, I like to be happy, joyful and delighted…

I’d hate to say that you being gone is not fair, because God’s purposes are the best. One day I’d get to understand why and I’m sure I’d absolutely understand. Besides everything, my daddy who is also yours and whom you see firsthand has been so gracious to me, mom, amaka, uche, obi and chibu and their families. Dad, I have to stop now and get back to work. You know we still have to work here **laughs** ooh I have something quite interesting to tell you… but we’d keep it for another time…

Give everyone a holy kiss for me… I wonder what God calls me in heaven.. I’d get to know soon.

See you soon, dad!

Name It Rightly

In Genesis 2:19, God brought the animals and birds to Adam to name them and whatever he called each living creature that was its name

God still brings things to His children to name. Have a selah moment, think back, what has been brought to you to name these past years (this year specifically) and what names have you called them? Did you give names prayerfully, out of frustration or similarity?
Names are powerful destiny tools. That is why after an encounter with God, He changed some people’s names. Have you also heard these phrases from the bible, “Those that believe in the Name of the Lord”, “For we trust in the Name of the Lord”. This means your name depicts your attributes, your power and you!

We might have named certain situations or seasons in our lives wrongly and are living out the names we gave them and wondering why we are praying with no response. Names don’t change themselves, we change them! God said whatever Adam called each animal stuck! Likewise whatever we call anything sticks, at least for us, but I am assured that the God that gives second chances can help us rename things we have named wrongly that affect us. The only way He can help is through an encounter with Him, or when we seek Him diligently and ask for His help which is an encounter of some sort. People like Abraham, Jacob, Peter and Paul had encounters with God that caused Him to change their names for the best. How about Jabez? God brought him to his mother to name and she named him Jabez ushering him into a world of misery and pain, but he cried out to God and was delivered. If human names can be changed how much more inanimate names

I guess what I’m saying is you don’t want to go into 2010 with dangerous names attached to you, align the names you have given your conditions with the word of God, does it add up? Even if you have no conditions you can still prayerfully name every phase of your life…

We don’t want to carry any baggage into 2010 so deal with them now, rename them to your advantage
